Colorado Conservation Voters announced today the release of their 2012 Colorado Legislative Conservation Scorecard which highlights the priorities of the conservation community and key conservation votes from each legislator during the 2012 Colorado legislative session

“The Conservation Scorecard is where the rubber meets the road for conservation issues in Colorado,” said Faith Winter, Program Manager for Colorado Conservation Voters. “It is easy for Coloradans to see which conservation champion is fighting for our clean air and water and who is falling short of matching the broad bipartisan support for protecting our air, land and water Coloradans express in public poll after poll.

The scorecard consists of key conservation issues and votes considered during the 2012 Colorado legislative session on a number of conservation community priorities including efforts to increase the recycling of electronic waste, kick starting the electric vehicle market, and ensure long term wind and solar renewable energy funding.  The report also singles out a number of notable representatives for their emerging leadership or their long term support for environmental issues.

After years of working in close partnership with Colorado Environmental Coalition (CEC), CCV and CEC have announced their intent to formally merge in 2013.  The new organization will combine the strengths of both groups — CEC’s strong policy, advocacy and organizing work, with CCV’s focus on electing pro-environment candidates to public office and holding them accountable.  We will be keeping everyone up to date on the merger process on this webpage.  Visit back for regular updates as we embark on this exciting next step.
