Michael B. Hancock - Website – Candidate Questionnaire
Michael Hancock’s sustainability platform. Highlights include:
- reduction of red tape for renewable energy projects and fast tracking LEED certified construction projects through the permit process
- will direct agencies to adopt energy efficient building improvements and construction
- establishment of Greenprint Denver as a permanent office of the Mayor, empowering it to set benchmarks and goals for the entire city government
- expansion the scope of Greenprint Denver to include sustainable economic development, community outreach, and a greater role in Denver’s strategic planning
- Denver Seeds program, a city farm network that would provide Denver with more local food sources while addressing unemployment and food deserts

Chris Romer’s sustainability platform. Highlights include:
- increase collaboration between GreenPrint Denver and the Department of Economic Development
- work to continue to achieve key environmental standards such as ISO 14001 in city departments
- create a regional plan for transportation that includes transit, walkability, and bikes
- complete FasTracks
- focus on energy efficiency in city building projects
- emphasize water efficiency projects and encourage businesses and families to practice rain water harvesting
