Ballot Initiatives
CCV opposes Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101 aka “The Bad 3″ (defeated with 75%, 73%, and 68% voting no respectively) – Our state budget is in crisis. Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101 would do even more damage to our fiscal health. CCV opposes this trio of anti-government initiatives. They will cripple our state’s ability to respond to the needs of its citizens and seventy thousand jobs will be lost in our sputtering economy, pushing Colorado deeper into recession. Funding for environmental programs will be jeopardized as state legislators look to fill the holes in the general budget that these initiatives would create.
CCV opposes Amendment 62, the so called “Personhood Amendment” (defeated with 71% voting no) – We believe that one important component of global sustainability is empowering women to make educated decisions about their reproductive health. At a time when Colorado is looked to as a leader on sustainability, passage of this extreme measure would represent a major step backward.
